I am looking to build a gaming pc. I have been looking at the AMD 8300 series because its 8 cores but people have been saying that the Intel I5 cpus are better but they have less cores, is more cores better? and also should i wait until the new cpus to come out next year
WHAT SHOULD I DO

Thanks in advance with all the advice

If you just want to run it at stock speeds the fans will work fine. Its a bit slower in a lot of applications than an I5, but it is decently cheaper than the 4670k, and has shown to be its equal in BF4. If you want to OC the 8320/8350 then you will certainly need a good aftermarket cooler.

Go for an i5, like the 4670k, it's a much better CPU for gaming than AMD ones, and yes, you should buy a CPU cooler. If you're not going to overclock right now (you don't need to, that CPU more than handles all the current games), or even if you're not going to do an extreme OC, the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is very very good. If you're going to do an extreme OC, get a watercooler, like the Corsair H100i, but watercoolers are a bit pricey...
