What CPU would work best with my GPU (PowerColor TurboDual Radeon R9 290)?

Hello! I got new GPU, power supply, and case recently and I was surprisingly disappointed with the bad frames I was getting on many games (15-30 FPS). Arma 3 ran at a jaw-dropping 10 FPS on a 70 player server while a friend of mine (Who using a weaker GPU) was running at 60 or so with the same graphics settings.

Okay, is your ram 4gb in total or 8gb in total? if its 4gb, its the reason why its dropping frames.
sometimes it may be the motherboard's quality.
but here, the i7-4770 is a good cpu

Your Trinity APU is killing you. Arma 3 is heavily CPU dependent and you need a good CPU like an Intel i5. All newer games run best with Intel. Find your APU on this chart to see how it rates-

I agree with you, thats another reason why his pc isnt running well.
TanmanG, it also could be because you're using an apu and gpu. there are CPU's that are cheaper and do the same performance.
Apu are for people who need a cpu without a gpu.
