Question what cpus can this mother board fit

this is my motherboard now https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VII_RANGER/ it has a Intel Core i5-4690K in it and would like to change it to something stronger is this motherboard able to run better cpus or do i need to buy a new motherboard

Here is a list of all the CPU's that the board you own, supports. If you want to move to a 6th or higher generation of Core i processors from Intel, you're going to need to change(re-invest on) the board as well as the ram's.

The strongest and only reasonable CPU upgrade for that mobo is the i7-4790K. Be sure you have a decent cooler. You should be able to get 4.6-4.7GHz out of an i7-4790K. You can also try overclocking your i5-4690K if you haven't already.

The best CPU that motherboard can support is the i7 4790k. Whether or not it's worth it to upgrade to that depends on the price you can find one for, your use case, and the performance uplift you expect to get.

The i7-4790K is still a good CPU. The only one you can get will be used. Not a terrible option though, considering you can still sell your i5-4690K for around $100.

Less than you hope.
You possibly could sell the whole thing locally.
On ebay, the shipping costs of a case make that option difficult.
Unless you can find a local buyer you will need to sell of parts that are not useful for a new build and retain the useable parts.

A pc will often fetch more if it is disassembled and the parts sold individually.
That is because it is unlikely that a buyer will want exactly the same pc.
Find your parts in used condition on ebay.
Then filter on completed auctions,
In green you will see what the part actually sold for and what you could expect to get for those parts.

You are looking to the processor as an issue, that may be the case, but
Possibly your graphics card might be a good upgrade option.
Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.
