You could get a Dell 990. But look for better SHIPPING $$$.

Reason for the 990 pick is no weird dell motherboard hookups.

Windows 10 works great on it.

You can get Windows 11 on there if your willing to put a little work into your USB installer. And Windows 11 works great on there as well.

Has most of the modern CPU instructions.

It will need a better power supply out the door I will say that up front but most OptiPlex no matter what gen have low wattage power supplies.

DDR3 memory is dirt cheap and it will take 32 Gb's no problem.

And I know your RX 580 will 100% work on that system.

There are newer OptiPlex PC's out there but might have to dig deeper on compatibility with after market cable converters for new power supplies .
So at least a starting point but need some feed back from you on your needs or a whole different Dell all together ?

Would this be good to buy? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/27623377...W4HVsF85nDHbnibhb|tkp:Bk9SR-q7w4-dYw&LH_BIN=1
I have a i5-2400 already and 8 gigs of ddr3 ram a 500 gig hard drive and a 240 gig ssd and a atx power supply the reason I have these parts is cause i bought a optiplex 380 and the power supply doesnt fit in the pc cause it has a slim psu and the cables dont support each other so rather than buying a new motherboard and case so its cheaper to just buy a new optiplex

To me the biggest issue is the Dell 990's have 4 memory slots vs only 2 on the Dell 390.

Don't short change yourself on an older system in todays world with only 2 memory slots.

And Dells are fussy what video cards work with what model. Your card very might work with the Dell 390 so ?

It's a win win for you if you can find a 990, with an i7 and between 16 to 32 Gb's of system memory for little out of pocket.

To most sellers of these old systems it's just and old out dated pieces of crap PC. As a buyer if you choose wisely you come out with a killer gaming system that still hold up at least for now and playing anything backwards from 2023, 2022,2021.

Moving forward 2024 no one knows so keep that in mind.
