Was looking around on eBay for used CPU and Motherboard combos since my current LGA 1700 platform isn't working right now(Wanted something to use while I go through the RMA process) and I came across a Epyc 7551P that comes with a Supermicro H11SSL-i Motherboard and 128GB of 2133 ECC Memory for $855.

I'm probably not going to buy it since I don't need that much memory or cores and have no plans to do anything server related for now, but I was curious, what Desktop processor would be similar to a 7551P in terms of the Single Core Performance? I've seen people say that it would be similar to other first gen Zen processors like the 1700 or 1600

Note: The two processors I've used in personal builds are the Ryzen 3 2200G and the I5 12600K so those two could be used as a comparison to give me a better idea of how much performance you would lose or gain.

Pretty easy to find out. Passmark for the 7551P -- https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+EPYC+7551P&id=3215 Single thread 1929.
Desktop single thread numbers -- https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html
Yes the first gen Zen are similar -- 1700 is 2000 single threaded.
