I hope someone can give me some insight on what happened... I got a gtx1080ti to replace my 1070 and got a evga 650w g3 to replace my 550w in there from before to support the new card. After installing both and turning it on there was a few sparks and some smoke (couldnt see what it was from due to the psu shroud). After turning it off for a few minutes then back on after not seeing any damage (I know this wasnt the smartest idea), I found that the usb going from my corsair commander pro to the mobo was disconnected slightly. Only one of my LL fans and led strips are working partially. Im assuming the partially unplugged port caused a short? If thats the case what all could be damaged? Just the Commander pro? Everything connected to the commander pro(6 fans 4 rgb strips)? The mobo? I do not want to cause any more damage so Id like to know what needs to be replaced. I will point out that when I unplug and plug the usb back into the mobo windows detects the port, but the commander does not show up. Any help would be appreciated.
TO BE CLEAR ITS THE USB PORT THAT SAYS USB34 NEXT TO IT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE MOBO.
EDIT: I took the commander pro out and it definitely smells burnt.
