tom said in his geforce3 preview:

"All in all the Vertex Shader specs are very impressive and offer a huge number of possibilities. However, a peep at the specifications of the Xbox shows that in GeForce3 the vertex shader is still in its early days"

it sounds like hes saying xboxs vertex shader will
be better than the gf3 one.
arent there supposed to be the same?
i tought that the only difference between
the xgpu(xbox) and the geforce3 gpu was speed and
"a few geometry features of the nv30".

if they are indeed different what is the specific xbox spec reference is he talking about?

thanks

Well, the GeForce 3 was codenamed NV20. The GeForce 4 (or whatever it will be called) is codenamed NV25. The Xbox's graphics chip is codenamed NV2A. So yes, it is better than the GF3... how much better, noone really knows except for developers.

They're supposed to be pretty different. The X-box doesn't even use the PC architecture, so take that into account when considering the differences...
