[SOLVED] What difference would I expect too see if my GPU would run at PCIe x8x versus PCIe x16 ?

Got an ASUS ROG RX Vega 64, and it's quite possible that with another storage change to my pc, that my card would have to run in a x8 pcie lane instead of the x16 pcie lane.

What exactly is the effect of doing this, like is it going to effect fps? what els is going to be effected, or should I rather step away from this idea?

minimum difference, the only huge impact it can have is when you run out of VRAM and GPU would need to use your system RAM, then pcie bandwith would hammer fps alot

Well if that is all , then I don't think it would be so much a problem at all, recon my games don't ever run out of Vram, because I keep my settings such that it's way under the hardware limit at all times.

But minimum difference still, there would be difference and that would be best to be avoided.

Apperntly on my Gigabyte B460m d3h rev 1 board, my x16 pcie slot would remain at x16 when adding a second pcie device witch would only be able to run at a maximum of x4 pcie.

Depends on the game, but in my case, I didn't really notice it. Was less than 5 FPS. I highly doubt it would do much. This supports what I noticed myself:

Please note that the card only ran in PCIE 3.0, even, not 4.0. Heck, not even 3.0x4 made that much of a difference...
