Hello I have a peculiar question. What directx 11 gpu can I pair with an array of four 9800gx2 gpus. All four 9800gx2s are being used as coprocessors.i just need a directx 11 gpu to use as a video output gpu along with the 9800gx2s. Quadro or gtx are both okay as long as they a) have directx 11 and b) can utilize 4x 9800gx2 gpus and c) is whatever is cheapest used or new doesn't matter.

I already have the 9800gx2s so I wanna use them

Solution

For what do you want to use the 9800gx2? If it's for physics it's pretty much useless.

Yes they're for physix hence the usage of four of them

Well any new nvidia card that can do physx will be way better than a dedicated 9800x2. Also the biggest problem is that since you need to run 2 diffrent generations of drivers and 2 diffrent directx api's. This simply does not work or if it works you will run into huge stability issues. Best to just give up on the 9800x2's and get any physx capable card since the on board physx accelerator has been better than a gtx 270 standalone since the 600 series.

Yeah...good idea. I'm now leaning on an array of 550ti 1 as the output and 3 as coprocessors

That's probably better you think?i don't wanna run out and buy new cards otherwise I'd have to jack up the price and potentially lose my customer

Well what kind of physx calculations will happen? In terms of power 4 550ti's are about a gtx 1050ti when doing rendering and such.

Oh by the way the array is 2 sets of 2-way SLI gpus hooked up via a y splitter hdmi to a single led tv.if that gives you more insight

Well the 550ti's will be better but the problem is that this is very hard to do with cards that are so many generations apart and not having driver conflicts. You can try with 550ti's.
