What do i choose for asus z170 progaming (headphones jack)

Im trying to plug my apple headphones into my computer so i can use the mic and the headphones at the same time but it doesnt work if i plug the headphones the sound will only work and if i choose mic only the microphone works.
I have to choose a option on my computer to but i dont know which one.
Motherboard: Asus z170 pro gaming
