What do I do if I have paid for an OEM Windows 10 key, and my OS is Volume, not OEM?

I have the volume version of windows 10 pro, not retail and not OEM. I have a paid-for Windows 10 Pro OEM key though. When I attempt to reinstall Windows using media creation tool from MS website it only installs windows updates and doesn't prompt to put in the product key.

Please help, I really need to fix this.

Yes. It doesn't work, unfortunately. I would assume an OEM wouldn't work with a Volume operating system, just as an OEM key wouldn't work with a retail version of the OS, so thats what I reckon is going on here...

I originally pirated the OS and used activator, but that [censored] up so I ended up with an unactivated volume license and I bought the OEM key from Kinguin

Install a clean version of Windows 10, one that matches your OEM key. If it fails to activate, contact Kinguin. Likely a deactivated key now considering the source.

Tom's Hardware does not support any form of software piracy. None. Period.

This is also a classic reason why we always suggest NOT buying a key from Kinguin. You might buy a key, but every time it's found to have been bought with stolen credit cards, or some other shifty method your key will get deactivated. Just buy it through a real legit source.
