What do I do now?

Since I'm very terrible at keeping tracks with the updates, the last time I've updated Windows was in 2020 and if I make an attempt to try to update it, I'd then have to wait more than 30 minutes only to return with that there is an error.

Till that day, my PC ran just fine until I began noticing that I was receiving BSOD crashes and the only error code I remembered was the Memory Management. Before that day happened, was everything fine with no errors and before going to sleep I remember turning my PC off through the PSU switch, which I don't know why.
When waking up, I realized that my Google Chrome wasn't synced and an error popped up with a message saying that a new extension has been added "Safe Torrent Scanner". Things got more strange whenever using the Windows Searchbox, a message would pop up top bar saying "Results from this PC may be incomplete" and the search index was also turned off for some reason. Turning the search index back on did not do anything. I made myself to be sure that I didn't have any malware and ran a quick scan through Windows Security but somehow, it never completed its task.
I tried downloading Adwcleaner with Google Chrome and somehow, the download location has been resetted into default. It would also result an error that the app cannot run on my PC and the version isn't compatible with my system which is also strange despite I've used it before on my un-updated OS. It has also come to a point that if a new EXE. file gets downloaded on this computer while this error is happening, the file would end up corrupted.
I did my research by running SFC and DISM commands which for the SFC, there were missing files and have been repaired as for the DISM, everything is running healthy. Me thinking that the errors would be over did not come true whereas restarting my PC, I noticed that Adwcleaner was no longer there. I did the same process with the SFC and DISM only to find out that the results were the same. My other backup drives weren't affected and new files still maintained. I ran the Error checking tool to my Main disk but only to give me again, errors, that Windows was unable to scan the drive. A notification popped up saying that I need to restart in order to get the drive repaired but it didn't fix anything. Is it whether, a virus or just an important file that plays a huge role in the system that has been corrupted? I'm looking forward for your responses.

Its possible that if you have Fast Startup turned on, the act of turning pc off by power switch could have corrupted windows.

Sync can't work if PC is turned off at PSU switch

Google Chrome wasn't synced and an error popped up with a message saying that a new extension has been added "Safe Torrent Scanner"
it seems odd it randomly adds a extension.

I would scan using https://www.hitmanpro.com/en-us as well.

Do you want to update win 10?

On another PC, download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB

once you have USB, go to pc that isn't letting you update and when in Windows, go to file explorer
put USB in drive and find it in file explorer
run setup

it will offer to update current PC.
follow the wizard and provided it lets you keep all your current info, run the update off the USB.
it should work. This could fix windows

If you were on the current version we could run a repair install and fix windows

I added some space to your last paragraph as 15 lines with no break hard to read :)
