What do i do with my 22 GB of pagefile.sys ?

I just got my desktop computer and i noticed that my 120GB hard drive is already full with only one month's worth of use. But im already out of SSD space and i could barley open any applications! I read online that whats taking up the space is the "pagefiles.sys" and it seems like thats the problem because if have 22GB of it! Whats the function of it? Should i delete it? or reduce its size? I have 8Gb of RAM btw. Any information would be very helpful! Thank you!!!
