what do i need to burn dvd's on my pc?

what do i need if i want to burn dvd's onto my pc? i currently have a 20X Dual Format/Double Layer DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW Drive. will this work? or do i need a program? i can rip cd's onto my pc with this, so can i put a dvd into it and put it on my pc?

any help with this would be great

2. some software like nero or roxio - altho windows do support burnining but its crap.

i want to be able to put a dvd into my drive and put it on my pc, not take a movie and put on a blank dvd
