What do i need to Create 2 subnets on LAN to seperate VM Guests

Need a little help. I am wanting to create 2 separate subnets on my LAN (please correct me if i am misusing the subnets). I want/need to separate my Host Computers from my Virtual Machine Guests that reside on 2 of the host computers in my home. THE IP ADDRESSES ARE NOT MY ACTUAL ADDRESSES. I am not really looking for why i am doing this. But i will need to access the VM's and Hosts from outside my LAN.

Running: VirutalBox with 3 VM's

HOST 2: (GENERIC SERVER)
Windows Server 2012 R2
Running: Hyper-V with 4 VM's
Host Adapter (Wired): Static: 173.26.0.2

HOST 3: (DIAGNOSTIC LAPTOP)
Windows 7 Ultimate (*wifi not used)
No VM's
Host Adapter: Wired Static 173.26.0.4


I currently have a D-Link Modem ran to a D-Link 5 Port Wireless Router. I have been searching on how to do this, with the options i am getting confused. I have a Cisco 2950 16 Port Switch with VLAN support. But do i need a 2nd router? If anyone can help.

The switch will work and you should be able to device a trunked port servers that have the VM. It should be possible to put the vm on different vlans if you want.

Your router is a consumer router that has no concept of vlans. You will either need a device you can load third party firmware on or buy a router than can router between vlans. Now if you just want to keep them isolated and they have no need to talk outside their vlans then you can use just the switch and leave your main pc on the default vlan and hook that to the router.
