What do I need to get a samsung 840 evo running?

Looking to buy a samsung 840 evo 500gb but apparently it does not come with SATA cord or power cord. What do i need to get it running? Will it take SATA 6? Is the SATA cord also the power cord? Thanks for any help.

I think your board should have sata III cables with it, you use that for the ssd, I think it draws power from psu

The power connector should come from the power supply; all modern power supplies have a good number of SATA power connectors like this

The SATA cable is standard connector used by HDD and optical disk drives. Yes, you'd like to use SATA 6GB/s for best performance and plug into a SATA 6 GB/s port on the motherboard with a cable that supports 6GB/s. Check your motherboard manual to see which ports support 6GB/s. If the SSD package doesn't include one you can find a set of SATA 6GB/s cables for a few bucks online.

The power comes from SATA power connectors which should be attached to your power supply or come with it (if it's modular).
You need a SATA data cable as well, any will do. You can pick them up fairly cheap.
