Posted on here a few times asking for help on getting a better build but I want something that will hold me over until I get a good PC.

Current specs:
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. 945GCM-S2C
Memory: OCZ Gold 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2G8004GK (Not 100% sure if this is the exact RAM I have but if it isn't, it's really close.)
Storage: WD Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT
Case: APEVIA X-QPACK2-AL/500 Black/ Silver Aluminum Body/ Front Mask MicroATX Desktop Computer Case 500W Power Supply
Power Supply: APEVIA WIN-500XSPX 500W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply (Came with case)

As it stands, my PC can run games like League of Legends with little amounts of FPS drops, if any. I recently was gifted Diablo III and it runs OK when it's about 75% of the size it is in full screen but I have my graphics turned all the way down and it kind of sucks :/ I have been looking into upgrades myself, and am thinking that I will have to upgrade the whole system because of the outdated mobo but I'd rather hold off on buying a new set up until I get my final build. Thoughts?

I think you would be very very happy with this build, maybe swapping out the motherboard for the one at the bottom of this post:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($334.97 @ OutletPC)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($99.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus Z87-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($134.99 @ NCIX US)
Memory: G.Skill Sniper Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($149.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($139.99 @ Micro Center)
Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM...
Well first off you're going to want a new PSU. Quote from the Power Supply Tier list:

"Tier five - Replace immediately. These units are NOT recommended for any system, no matter the purpose. Reference to higher tiered models for a better and potentially money-saving unit

Apevia"

There really isn't a whole lot you can do with your current build without wasting money if you're just going to build a new PC in the near future. Might I ask what your budget would be for a new computer?

I'm looking at a few builds at the moment.

This is the build I ultimately want:

This is one I am looking at to upgrade to it and then just replace parts to get to my final build. The mobo will run everything that I have on my 2k build, just fine.

Also, there should be an SSD in the last build I sent you. Same one as in my 2k build.

If you really want the Maximus VI Formula, then you could go that that as well for another $60 or so.
