I have a computer that I built myself a year ago but it doesn't run some games like I want it to. DayZ standalone runs at about 19-27 frames (I know it's not optimized well but still) a somewhat heavily modded skyrim runs at 20-30 fps. Assassins Creed Black Flag runs at 30-40 on max settings. My specs are as shown from System Requirements Lab:
Processor AMD FX(tm)-8320 Eight-Core Processor
Manufacturer AMD
Speed 3.5 GHz
Number of Cores 8
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
Manufacturer NVIDIA
Chipset GeForce GTX 760

Display Maximum Resolution 1920 x 1080
DVD ASUS DRW-24B1ST i ATA Device

I really would like to play the next gen games like GTA V on max setting like I had hoped but I doubt that with whatever is holding me back I will be able to accomplish it.
I Would Like To Know What Needs To Be Upgraded, GPU, CPU, etc.

Solution
Nothing really. The performance would be the same. Honestly any 970 you but will basically perform the same as any other one. Within the margin of error. Because you don;t plan to overclock it, there is not reason to get an expensive one.
GTX 970 draws less power than GTX 760 so no need of new PSU . Also a single card is better . Moreover GTX 970 has 4GB . two GTX 760 in SLI might need new PSU and the Total cost would be the same . Go for GTX 970 .it is about 2x faster than GTX 760 .

My motherboard does support SLI.

Dual 760s will perform close to the same or slightly better than a single 970. But in some games that do not support SLI, you will have only a single 760. Basically all mainstream games support it though.

What PSU do you have now?

If you want GTA V to max, your CPU is going to be the weak spot. It'll need to be overclocked for sure.

Can you link me to a Newegg page for the 970?

Give me one second to check for my PSU, and I know nearly nothing about overclocking besides the fact that it takes plenty of trial and error :p.

Yeah we got it. You have said that 3 times already, but you are misreading the graphs rockie_.

That doesn't stop the fact that you are incorrect. The chart shows the 970 at 100% and the 760 at 60%. That means the 970 is only 40% better.

Two 760s will beat a single 970 at 1080p in well optimized games.

98/60=1.63333 or 63.33% more

i am correct . i am a mathematician . i won several prizes in maths and i have a master s degrre of Finince .

What you just proved, with this math, is that 63 is 63.33% of 98. Which leaves about 37% unaccounted for. This is the difference between the cards. 37%. The 970 is 37% better than the 760.

Welp, you are wrong here. Sorry.
