What do you all think of this intel build?

Solution

You're going to be waiting a while if you do want to wait for AMD, Zen isn't launching until October at the earliest. AM4 motherboards might be coming out soon, but they will be launching with Excavator APUs, which are pretty low end and based on AMD's older architecture, they won't be competing with i7 class Intel processors.
Unless you have a truly multithreaded app that can make use of many cores, I think a i7-6700K build would serve you better.
The faster core speeds will be best for games and will be better for most tasks that do not need more than 4 cores to run.
Try to find some benchmarks using the particular editing and apps that you will run.

I think Samsung today is a safer pick for a ssd.

On the graphics card, there is a rumor that pascal cards are near.
If your time frame permits, wait for that.

If you must buy now, a GTX970 will run any game well on 1080P.
Buy a EVGA card to protect yourself with their 90 day free trade up policy.

Lastly, buy yourself a second identical monitor.
It is invaluable for desktop work.

Looks like AMD will be releasing AM4 soon. Regardless if I go with them or not, seems wise to hold off until they do. Competition breeds good pricing! Thank you all for the help!
