What do you do when your build dies?

Hello,
Four years ago I built my 2nd computer and recently it has died. I think it is the motherboard but I only have the one computer to check components on. I have pulled all of the ram, recent the bios/cmos, removed all of the cards, basically ran through every troubleshooting algorithm I could find. I pulled the CPU and it looks ok. The only thing that I didn't really test is the power supply.
I'm not trying to figure out where to go from here.
What I currently have is the following:
ASUS Z97-pro (wifi/ac/3.1)--probably the problem
I7-4790K
4 sticks of 8 GB DDR3 1600
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 with 4GB
120 GB SSD-boot drive
2 TB Hard drives
850 W Corsair power supply

Would you rebuild this with a new motherboard?
Would you sell the parts on ebay or some other site?
I originally built this thinking I would do significant video editing and photo editing on it but I certainly never used it to its potential.
BTW, the asus motherboard displays error code 91--"Driver connection is starting" and the vga_led is lit.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers,
KAR
