What vehicle do you drive?

I just got my dad's 1999 Ford Ranger. 2.5L 4 cylinder, 2wd. Manual Transmission. 213,200 Miles

This truck is the best truck ever though. You can't possibly argue with free.

1998 Pontaic Grand Prix GTP - 3.8L V6 Supercharged w/ Eaton M90 (stock blower) on a 3.5" pulley. CAI in progress. 169,850 Miles. Great car. Fast, comfy, and has a nice back seat. :sol:

My brother has a ranger right now - saving for his Evo VIII. It's okay. He tore the front bumper off offroading, since it's raised, but oh well.

What do you think would be a decent (but cheap, VERY VERY cheap) first car? It doesn't need to be "fast," but it shouldn't look like my mom's van.

I was looking at 1994-9 Honda's, they seem to run forever. You see so many of them. I wouldn't put stupid bumpers and 3 foot spoilers on it either, I would probably get turbo. Price range is $0 to $4,500. (Used obviously) Any ideas?

I have a 1991 Honda Accord EX 5 speed with 180,000 miles... doesn't leak or burn oil... AC blows cold... gets 28mpg... and cost 3 grand... she's a good car.

My baby though is a 1971 Chevy Nova, cherry red with the original (but rebuilt) 307. TH350, and the stock rear end. I'm slowly doing more and more to her. The latest was an all around disk brake upgrade setup which helped a lot hah.

Best car i've had hands down was a Honda Prelude 4th Gen, grey import from Japan. Lowered, 18 inch rims, unrestricted, with front and rear support struts. A fantastic car.

Yeah, no one can say that Honda's aren't well made. My dad has this friend at work that can tell you what goes wrong with cars at certain mileages. He used this knowledge to buy a Toyota Corolla (unsure of year, but mileage was over 300,000) for about 1000 USD that needed nothing more than a battery.

I will definitely tell my dad to talk to this man about Honda's, preferably the Civic. And wow, that Nova sounds awesome! Hopefully I'll have a dream car one day too.

Daily commuter - 2005 Jetta TDI. 42MPG BABY!!!!!!!!! TDI FTW!!!!!!!!

Weekend cruiser - 1962 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88, partially restored, stock, low compression 394, two barrel Rochester, dual exhaust.

Wife's car - 2002 Toyota Camry V6 XLE.

2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring; getting 27MPG. This replaced a trouble-free 2002 (but made in '98 or '99 per VIN records) Hyundai Elantra GT.
Occasionally on weekends I'll ride a 2008 Catrike Road.

Daily commuter is a 2006 Ford Fusion SEL, and the family truckster is a 2009 Ford Edge SEL. We live in Minnesota so it's nice to finally have an AWD vehicle in the winter and a hauler for summer camping :)

had a 1995 volvo 850T (73K) and a 2001 boxster s (30K); the TurboBrick, which i insist was cursed, "went to be with Jesus" the week before this past Christmas. My new residence is in the sticks, and boxy was being torn to pieces by my terrible road (gas well trucks), so i dumped it as well, and christmas eve i bought a 300 (Touring). I suppose until I move (or the gas production stops) I'll be driving disposable cars. 18-24" deep potholes suck, and not in a good way.

I daily drive a 1997 Miata. British racing green with a tan top and interior.
When I feel like being an ass I've got a 1995 Ducati 900 SS/CR with an airbox, jetkit, and pipes. Here's a review of the version with more tupperware: http://www.latexnet.org/~csmith/sausage.html

Todd, if you don't need to be able to carry 4 people a miata would probably be a great choice. they're cheap (a clean early one can be had for $2000-4000) bulletproof (easily go 250k+ miles) and painfully easy to work on. (I've torn my engine half way down to do a timing belt and waterpump with no real prior experience) Plus, it's a legitimate RWD sports car, not a wrong-wheel drive econobox.

yeah, and they're not gay at all.

but, seriously... my current car is RWD, but it's the first large RWD i've had in a very long time. I am having HELL getting used to it again. I've found that it simply will not navigate some situations that the FWDs would have been fine with.
