What do you guys think about the GTX 1070s and 1080s? Worth the money? Which one should I get or anyone get?

Hey guys,

I'm curious as to what you guys think about the new graphics cards that recently came out. Which one is better for the buck? I guess I should wait on buying one since they do seem a little overpriced.

I just want to hear some ideas.

Unlike the 900 series, BOTH GTX 1070 and 1080 are the best bang for your buck. Each one has a excellent price to performance ratio.

i think the 1080 is to expensive for its performance, however the 1070 looks very good for the price/performance ratio, i would wait until the companys stop price gouging people first before purchase.

I think the 1070 is great for 1440p. I think the 1080 is a (expletive) as it's not really a 4k card so i'd just wait for the 1080ti.

I'm probably going to pass on the 1080s, and hold out for the 1080 Ti's, which I hope comes out no later than end of year.

With how well the GTX 1080 does in price to performance value, I'd not be surprised if the GTX 1080Ti takes over as the best dollar per frame.

However, I'm thinking that if you get the 1070, you'd be able to run any game with max settings. So what's the point of getting a 1080 card if the 1070 is cheaper and does the job?

For 1080p @ 60Hz a 1070 is slight overkill, if however running 1440p at 144Hz the 1080 looks like an excellent choice even though a 1070 would do a very decent job. All depends on resolution and Hz your aiming for

it all depends on the monitor you are using a 1080 p gtx 980 ti , 1440p a gtx 1070 , or 4k gtx 1080 I get 60 fps on pretty much all my games including gta 5 rise of the tomb raider etc , i'm on a 32 " 4k monitor

desi what cpu and memory do u have ? that will play a major role in performance , I learned the hard way when comparing others on you tube , you will have to put in consideration on the cpu intensive games like witcher 3 etc
