Hello guys! I'm planning to build myself a gaming & streaming PC. And wonder if this is good enough?

Casing: NZXT Phantom 820
Motherboard: Asus Maximuss VII Hero
Processor: Intel i7 4790k
RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 2400mhz
Graphics Card: Asus GTX 980 Matrix
CPU Cooler: Noctua DH-15
PSU: Corsair Power AX860i
SSD: Samsung SSD 850 PRO 256GB
HDD: Western Digital VelociRaptor 1TB 64MB 10kRPM
Windows 8.1 Pro

What do you think?
All comments are welcome.

your like 100-200 euro away from a socket 2011~3 board and processor and buying into DDR3 right when its dying.
Little light on PCIE 3 ports and no M.2 port on the MB. You ill want to look at PCIE and M.2 mounted SSD solutions in the near future, plan ahead.

Also Win8.1 is horrible and incompatible with most everything.

So do you have any suggestion? Like what do I need to change to make this build to be more powerful for gaming? I'm trying to build a good gaming pc/streaming.

asrock x99m extreme4
MSI X99S GAMING 7
Or somesuch..
Some DDR4
and atm youll need to fork out a little extra for the CPU.

I know saying wait for the next.. is how you end up never getting a new PC. But at this wery moment everything DDR3 is basically old, while DDR4 stuff is just a little too expensive.

I could care less for 6 cores on the I7 4 is plenty and id take a few mhz over an extra core anyday. But RAM basically works for 10 years or so. With DDR4 at its current pricetag or where its going in a month or two, your really buying yesterdays tech while saving 20 euro.

As for the M.2 and extra PCIe 3 ports. Look at the transfer rates companies like samsung is talking about. Basically both yours and my setup is choked at the SATA ports from birth. Only im looking for a way out and your looking at raid array of expensive SSD's at best.

Thank you for your time sir. I've looked into some of those X99 boards, but I find them to be way out of my budget. So are you saying the Samsung SSD 850 PRO 265GB is not really worth it? Sorry, my English is not that good. And as for the DDR4 RAM, will the Maximus VII Hero board support it? Will it produce a noticeable result comparing to the DDR3 RAM?

The ram itself wont be much of an upgrade, but it kinda comes with the x99 boards and like all ram generations before it, it will be dominating in a couple of years.
That said i have seen farcry4 run on a ddr2 based system, so progress is slowing down.
ddr4 wont fit ddr3 ports, same as every other generation of ram.

From pricetags in denmark, the motherboard you suggested is very close to the ones i suggested (within 10 euro).
the big thing is the cpu.

However im reading up on the m.2 port and pcie based ssd's. Seems the tech is not quite perfected yet.
So even thou it will be the future, you cant really prepare for it without a bit of reading and prolly an extra pricetag for motherboards.
heres a thread on the matter http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2316109/system-ssd-question.html
