What do you guys use your cards for?

Eyefinity with somes 22"s or do you think a nice 32" or 42" is enough? 6950's in xfire, what would you reccomend?

Personal preference though... I like it in my 40" samsung....better viewing without any panes in between displays as seen in multi monitor display.

My own experience is that screens large enough to enjoy movies are too large for gaming. Because I can afford (space and funds) to use different screens for these purposes, I do.

And again, maybe its just me, but I don't understand gaming across three screens separated by two bezels. Further, you're fighting to get higher resolutions to provide better detail, and then you wind up spreading essentially the same picture across 3x the reolution. OK, maybe its cool to show off, but does all that make for better gaming?

Given that my movies and PC use are done (mostly) on separate screens, I find the best choice for me to be a 27" monitor with 1920x1200 (or 1080) resolution. I get as large a screen as I could need for gaming and web browsing etc, and a resolution low enough to easily read text etc.

Just an opinion. YMMV lol.

O video cards, Not a gamer but have a Samsung P2770 connected to two computers (I5-750 w/5770 and a I5-2500k w/6870), stand-along DVD recorder to record Cable, and a Over-the-air Ant incas cable goes out. Also have a samsung 240HD monitor/HDTV (16::10 instead of the 16:9)

I have a 28" Monitor 1920x1200 and I love it! If you are going to be at a desk the 32-42" would just be too much for how close you are to the screen. If you are going to be in a living room setting then ths big screens are fine. Eyefinity is cool and all but I dont care for the bezels*(sp)? When people come over I really get a lot of, "Wow", factor from the big screen and I really prefer the 16:10 format and the 1920x1200 resolution. It looks fantastic when playing, The Witcher 2, Fallout New Vegas or Crysis. Its really kind of situationable, but you should get the monitor(s) you really want because your video cards will handle it, no problem.

how can you enjoy a game when you have to sit 8 or 10 feet away in order to see the screen with some clarity ? There's no way you can be immersed into it. Kinda negates having a "big" monitor. The other guys are right. nothing beats a "PC" monitor for playing games. The bigger the better.

I have 3 monitors (not tv's) mounted on a cutom bracket so none have the bases attached.

1680*1050 1920*1200 1680*1050

means i use the large middle screen for games that dont support / look any good with eyefinity.

and for games that do. i drop the middle screen down to 1680*1050 and eyefinity at 5040*1050.

generally this is for racing games but its not bad for shooters either.
the bezil's you dont even notice as the middle screen is big enough that the 2 sides are just peripheral vision for game immersion.
