What do you put for MSI 'order/invoice number' for rebate if bought on ebay?

I bought a GPU on ebay new with rebate mentioned in the listing, available from MSI for 'all resellers'. MSI almost rejected my last rebate because I got the 'order invoice number' confused but I bought that one from newegg and MSI let me change the invoice number and I got my prepaid debit card rebate.

I called MSI since there is no actual 'order/invoice number' when buying on ebay and she said to use the paypal transaction id which i suggested as a possiblity. I said I know the call's being recorded and that I'm holding it against her if she's wrong and she said fine. I had been waiting back from the seller (big ebay store who should know how to handle this) and they sent me a code to use for the 'order/invoice' that was random numbers that started with EBsomethingsomething. So what am I supposed to do? the MSI rep wasn't sure about this and had me on hold half the time checking how to do this so I sort of trust the ebay seller more but MSI has it recorded that she said to use the paypal transaction.

Didn't the retailer you bought the card from on ebay send you a invoice? A receipt or packing slip with an order number? You can't expect MSI to take your word for it that you bought it new and that you bought it during the rebate window time slot. Sounds like they are bending over backwards for you.
