Hi!
My 7 years old computer has died and I need to buy a new one.
I want to reuse (if I can) its case and its power supply to build a custom one. It's an Antec New Solution NSK6580-EC - mid tower - ATX.
I want to use these components:
1. Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H motherboard.
2. Intel® Core™ i7-4790 processor.
3. One KINGSTON HYPERX FURY BLUE 8GB DDR3/1600 CL10.
4. One SANDISK SSD EXTREME PRO 240GB 2,5" SATA 6 GB/S.
5. My old Seagate ST3500630AS 500GB hard drive.
6. My old Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS SB0350 7.1 sound card.
7. My old Pioneer DVR-110 rewriter and probably another Pioneer DVD unit.
By the way, I want to reuse my Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS because I need to use its Digital Output to connect my Creative DTT3500 speakers.
Another option is buy an Asus Maximus VII Ranger motherboard, but it doesn't have PCI slots for my Sound Blaster. I think that Creative DTT3500 works with an Optical Output.
And, when I have more money, I want to buy one or maybe two good graphic cards and add another KINGSTON HYPERX FURY BLUE 8GB DDR3/1600 CL10.
I have some questions about this configuration:
1. Can I reuse my old case and power supply? Or do you recommend me buy another one?
2. What kind of CPU Cooler Fan do I need? Is easy to install it?
You can suggest me improvements on this configuration (another motherboard, a better memory...).
I'm a software developer and I want to use this new computer for games and software development.
My main goal is to have a computer that I don't need to change it in the next seven years. This is why I have chosen an Intel Core i7-4790 processor.
I don't want to waste more than 1,000€.
When I get more money, I will buy one or probably two graphics cards and one 1TB hard drive.
Thanks.
