Hey!

I am going to build my first pc soon. I am just waiting for the new ryzen 3000 series, and the rtx super cards to drop.

I know its difficult to know by now, but i was just wondering if anyone know what mobo i should get.

I have read that if you buy for example a x470, you have to update the bios to use it. I do not have a old amd cpu, but i do have a old intel cpu. In that case how can i update my bios, without a cpu?

This is the pc without the mobo, cpu and gpu. If you got any recomendation to parts i should change on this pc build, please tell me.

as you are planning to start with a 3xxx series I suggest getting a 5xx series chipset to match it. if you were to pull the trigger and get the x4xx series board and a 2xxx series CPU then upgrading will be a non issue as you will have the right CPU to flash with. AMD once offered a CPU loan program called a boot chip, you order it, they ship it, you return it and they refund for the CPU. I do not know if that is still running so I urge on the side of caution and matching the CPU to a board made for it out of the gate. there are few things more annoying than having to wait for a piece of software to make the system even power on.
get a 5xx series board to go with the 3xxx series CPU and save a headache.

doing this will also ensure that you will get full PCIe 4.0 support, some older boards MAY not get PCIe 4.0 support at all.

There are many motherboards that don't require a CPU to update their BIOS, but I'd still recommend buying a X570, as you get more features and it's compatible from the start. For the GPU, the Super cards already launched and theh suck. Buy a Navi card or a used Vega/1080 Ti.

So you do not recommend a 2070 super, out of what i have read it performs pretty good. A used 1080ti is almost more expensive than a 2070 super i my country. They preform basically the same.

I think im gonna buy an asus tuf gaming x570-plus and an rtx 2070 super. The mobo is one of few that does not cost over 200usd. Ive seen a few reviews of the 2070 super, and it performs almost as good as a 2080. It looses by 3-7fps in most games, and its 200usd cheaper.
