What do you think of PC Tel Modem

I currently have a Wiscom Motorola SM56 Spearkerphone modem. I am having a hard time with this modem. It will connect to the internet just fine. But once in a while it will not let me go anywhere over the internet, but keep the connection. I will need to restart my computer in order to go somewhere again. I am thinking about buying another modem. What do you guys think of the PC Tel modem. I don't want to spend too much money on modem anymore. I am planning to get eother DSL ot Cable later this year. Can anyone tell me what they think about the PC Tel modem. thank you.

I've used a Thunderlink PCTel chipset 56K v90 modem for times when my ADSL is down, and it seems to do the job. Don't expect much from it though, because I noticed a huge decline in performance from the USR 56K v90 that I used to use in my other computer before (unfortunately, it is ISA so I cannot put it into this computer).

If you want a cheap modem, get a Lucent modem-they use very little of the system resources (I can run them on a Pentium 90 with the right driver).
