Hi,

Please suggest me if the video editing system that I have decided to build will be good enough for a 1080p proxy workflow (might even edit native 4k from time to time). My preferred NLE is Adobe Premiere Pro at the moment, but I do intend to make a jump to Avid Media Composer (great for collaboration) in future. The thing I am most confused about is whether I should go for an Intel i7 8700 (non k) paired with a GTX 2060 or an i7 8700K paired with a RTX 1660ti. I am based in India and the price difference between an i7 8700 non K and K version is about $140, so I am not sure whether the 15-18% performance difference justifies the increased cost as I am in no position to spend more than my budget. Here's my overall proposed rig:

i7 8700 (priced $430 in India) or i7 8700k ($570)
MSI Pro Series Z370 PC PRO Motherboard ($170)
Gskill 16GB DDR4 3000MHz RAM ($115) - will switch to 32GB within a few months
Cooler Master MASTERAIR MA620P Air Cooler ($55)
Corsair SPEC 1 Mid Tower Cabinet ($39)
Corsair TX650M Gold PSU ($105)
Inno3d GeForce RTX 2060 TWIN X2 6GB ($450) or Asus GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Phoenix OC ($365)
Samsung 970 Evo 500GB NVMe M.2 ($142) - I already own a 250GB Sata SSD from my previous build
CORSAIR K55 RGB Gaming Keyboard ($48)
Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury Ultra Fast FPS Gaming Mouse ($30)
BenQ 27" PD2710QC QHD Monitor ($550) - great for light color grading work
Mackie CR3 3-inch Studio Monitor pair ($140)

As you can see above, prices in India are really high compared to US so I have to be extra careful, economically, in building a video editing rig. I will use this rig for 2-3 years and then depending on the increased frequency and difficulty level of video projects, will switch to a much better build in future.

Looking forward to your insightful suggestions!

Thank you.
