So I'm planning on stepping up my game regarding my PC rig. My current setup consists of an i5 4600, 2x4 GB DDR3 RAM and a GTX1060 6GB model. This is enough for high/ultra settings on 1080p, what I would be pining for is 1440p ultra settings (mostly, I'm up for some compromises, but not much). Note that it will be used for gaming primarily, no video editing or similar processes that would mean heavier workloads are in the offing. This is what I have planned out:

CPU: Intel Core i5-9600K 3.7 GHz
CPU Cooler: Be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4
Motherboard: ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming SLI/ac
Memory: Kingston HyperX Predator 2x8 GB DDR4-3200
Storage 1: Adata XPG SX8200 512GB M.2 SSD (System)
Storage 2: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB M.2 SSD (Programs)
Storage 3: Toshiba X300 6TB SATA HDD (Media storage)
VGA: MSI RTX 2070 8GB Gaming
Case: Thermaltake H200 RGB case
PSU: Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 550W Fully modular PSU

This concludes around $1700, which is approximately the amount I would be willing to spend on the rig itself. I'm keen to take advice regarding monitors too, I don't necessarily want a high-end gaming monitor, good colours and ideal viewing angles are just as important, because it will be used to watch movies as well. Thank you in advance!

Overall as a pure gaming build you cannot go wrong with the 9700K, it is a great gaming CPU and overclocks extremely well to 5GHz. Matched to the DDR4 3200 and the RTX 2070 would be great but try to get the RTX 2070 Super as it is quiet a bit better. I have the ADATA SX8200 and it is a great NVMe drive so no issues there and the Seasonic Focus Plus is a good power supply, though I would push to 650w just for piece of mind..I always like to go over...

Also I would look at the motherboard choice and rather go for the Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Elite which has a far superior 12+1 Phases Digital VRM. I believe it is just a bit more expensive than the ASRock...Unless you really need the 2.5GHz Lan...
