My question is, in my hard drive properties there is an option which reads 'Allow files on this drive to have contents indexed in addition to file properties'. My question is, what does this mean and should I uncheck the box?

Solution
I gets you computer to index all the files on the drive to speed up data recovery. However, the process of indexing slows your system down and can happen at awkward times. This is a good thing to do if your system is used mostly for data retrieval. This is not needed for a gaming system.
