What does it mean when laptop says insert media

I'm trying to factory reset my hp laptop and every time I clicked on get started to reset it tells me to insert media

This means that you are trying to Reset your Windows, if you're on Windows 8 insert a Windows 8 Disk, it will then download the required sources from the disk and you will be able to boot. Before you do this make sure all of the data that you will need has been backed up, as this is a factory reset your machine will loose all of the installed programs and data that was on the machine.
