If you can connect in Safe mode, download DDU and a slightly older graphics card driver. While still in safe mode, run DDU to be sure that all remnants of older GPU drivers are removed. Boot back into normal mode and try to immediately install the driver.
If that doesn't work, I would also suggest re-seating the graphics card. That just means you basically pull the card out and put it back in. Sometimes this helps because GPUs are known to get knocked loose very easily. Afterwards, try to install the driver again.
