What does it mean when your printer is offline

Normally, Offline is caused by an error -- or if you press the Online/Offline button.

Check printer to computer cable is connected and for paper jams etc and press the button. It should go online.

It's either your Printer is really off or there's something wrong with the cable or connection.

I have a Mac, normally computers have "online" or "offline" that is clearly visible. But when I try to print, it's offline. I'm getting very frustrated, I'm about to through this machine out the window!
