An Ordinand is a person who has been put forward by the church (after a long selection process) as someone they think will be an ideal candidate after training, to become a member of the clergy (deacon, priests and bishops). Ordinands are sent to train in theology (usually at a university) for a varied amount of time depending on their age and background (in the 'Church of England' and 'Church in Wales' its usually a 2 -3 years).
