what does pc3-10600 mean

Hello everyone I have a asus m5a97 le r2.0 motherboard and I just bought some 8gb ram and it says pc3-10600 what does that mean I just want to know that this ram it compatible with my mobo also what does ecc registered mean please help

If it is ecc ram it is not compatible with that motherboard ECC ram is for a server.
Here is what ram your MB takes via Asus

And for what it's worth, the 10600 is another designation for DDR3 1333 DRAM, PC3 indicates DDR3 and the 10600 indicates the theoretical number of M/Ts (roughly MegaBytes per second)

Most all PCs run non-ECC, there are some that can run ECC, but really no need for it, many servers these days bypass ECC for the faster unbuffered DRAM
