What does the "k " means in A8 6600K amd what the locked cpu means

Solution
Your cpu is AMD a8 6600k black edition. The k in that means it is unlocked means it's clock speed can be increase or decrease. You can overclock and downclock your cpu. And the Black edition means you cpu can be stable at high overclocks also by increasing multiplier in bios. The CPUs that has a tag of black edition, means the CPU are made for extreme overclock. They tested the performance of the CPU for high frequency and make them stable for high overclocks. ..... :)
same as intel, unlocked cpu multiplier (needed for overclocking)

edit: cpu speed is front side bus speed multiplied by the speed multiplier. this multiplier is usually locked to the stock speed of the cpu. in unlocked (overclock friendly cpus K series) it's not locked. you can change it yourself to speed up (overclock) or down the cpu (downclock)

Last question, can you tell me what is the black edition means? In AMD a8 6600k black edition
