What does this cable do? 6 pin power with 3 molex connectors and a 4 pin connector?

I have this cable which came with the corsair cx550m PSU. It is connected to the PSU with a 6 pin connector, then has 3 molex connectors, and at the end has a 4 pin connector that I don't know what to connect to. I'm just confused at what this cable is supposed to do. My best guess is that the 4 pin connector is supposed to be connected to a fan header on the Motherboard. And if it does connect to the fan header, can i control fanspeeds with this cable?

You can get a fan controller and plug the fans into it. You could also use a splitter and the 2 fans on the splitter would be controller by the same port, but if you want individual control over all 4 you'd need a fan controller.

Oh wow, so basically I will never use the berg connector and the cable is only for fans with molex connectors? Im trying to connect 4 fans to a motherboard with 3 fan headers, is there a way I can control all 4 fan speeds?
