It means there are two slots (dual), and that one of those slots has a heatsink cover, so don't expect to put a device with a factory heatsink in that slot.

IMO, more like dual-purpose, capable of PCI-E 3.0 and PCI-E 4.0. But still single slot. With included Thermal Guard.

The "x4" refers to the PCIe lanes.
Not the number of M.2 ports.

IMO, more like dual-purpose, capable of PCI-E 3.0 and PCI-E 4.0. But still single slot. With included Thermal Guard.

Giving us the manufacturer and exact model of the motherboard would be the best way to have us verify.

As you can see above the word "dual" was interpreted two different ways.

Just by looking at the MoBo pics, you can see two M.2 slots. Upper one has thermal guard while lower one is bare.

Also, upper M.2 slot is either 4.0 or 3.0 (3.0 when using G-suffix CPU). Lower slot is 3.0.

And look closely at the pictures. The M.2 slot above the graphics card slot is the one with the heatsink. The second slot, near the "Amped Up" on the picture does not have a heatsink.

The will physically fit and run.
One will run at PCIe 4.0
The other will run at PCIe 3.0

Depending on the CPU involved.

With a G CPU....BOTH of the M.2 ports run at PCIe 3.0x4.
Not 4.0x4 as the 2 drives are.

You will never notice the difference, but this is why you do the research before buying parts.
