What does "write data" mean in terms of SSD,

So i was looking at the logevity of SSD's. What does it mean "to write 50GB of data a day". I am buying a Kingston v300 for my desktop and was worried about the longevity of the SSd. I play alot of games btw so would this correspond with the 50gb of writing data a day?

Write data on a pc is files hat are not on the drive. If you install a game that write data...reading or playing a game is not adding data to a Ssd.
When you install Ssd you want to tweak windows..some settings were made for windows and older hard drives and make unessary writes to a Ssd.
For a home user a Ssd should last many years before the Ssd wears out.

So specifiaclly what should go on the SSD. For example programs such as Chrom, AVG virsu scanner, CC cleaner, DIVX. Should these be runn of the HDD or the SSD?

On my 120g Ssd I have my os and main programs I use daily. New games and new apps go on the slower hd.

OK, thanks for all the help guys. I have posted this question before but no one answerd it yet. So i have my hdd in my comp now. I want to completely erase everything on it and use it as the storage device.
SO my question is do i format the HDD first, unplug it from the mobo, then install the SSD and the OS, then replug in the HDD. Or do I just unplug the HDD, install new SSD and OS. Then replug in new HDD and format it.

Also, before i do any of this, do i have to go into bios with the old HDD plunged in and change it to AHCI or do I go into bios right when i start comp with the new SSD and change it to AHCI.

Thanks for all the help. For some reason I am just utterly confused when it comes to SSD and its corresponding technology. Some forums say to do it one way while others tell you to do it differently.

Reading the link you sent me, Now i am just questioning my slef is it worth even buying an SSD due to all the optimizations i have to do in windows.

All depends on the size of your SSD. I'm running W8 and my most used progs like Photoshop on a 60Gb SSD and I still have about 22Gb spare. (Having followed all the tweaks in the Guide of course...) Just keep an eye on the used space on your SSD and make sure you leave some spare for Windows Updates ecetera. Move the locaton of User folders like Pictures, Music, to your HDD

I can't wait till Ssd replace hd. You will see your pc run a lot faster.
The mb chech that it in achi mode before you start windows install.
The easy install is just pull the data cable from the hd. Then windows will just see the Ssd and just run windows installer.

Oh yes! You won't recognise your PC once you've added an SSD, I've upgraded laptops running Vista on dual core CPUs and they're like lightning in comparison. The tweaks won't take you long, and even without them you'll see a major difference in boot times and prog load times. You only have to do it once!
