What drivers do I need to update if I install Windows 10?

Hi guys,

I've tried installing windows 10 like 6 months ago, back in July 2015, and it worked for a little bit on my computer, but then my computer wouldn't stop crashing. I kept having to turn on my computer every 2 minutes. So I uninstalled it. The next time I tried installing windows 10 is sometime in August 2015, and I was having the same problems. I tried uninstalling a couple of programs that might've interfered with it such as my antivirus program because I thought it was acting like a virus, but of course that wasn't the issue. I also updated some of my drivers, but I'm not entirely sure if I updated all of them.

Anyway, I'm thinking of installing windows 10 sometime this month, but I'm wondering a couple of things such as:

1. Have there been any major updates since I tried updating it last time?
2. What drivers do I need to look out for to update? Motherboard, Graphics Card, Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers etc...? (I'd appreciate it if you gave me a list of drivers to update. I'm not asking for the specific websites).

Thanks in advance!

If you have an internet connection Windows 10 will find all the drivers for you :) When I build systems now I let Windows 10 find the drivers and then check them out afterwards. It hasn't failed me yet. (20 systems or so since W10 release).

Wow that's surprising! 20 systems is a lot! I would love it if I could build that many. :pt1cable:
Anyway, how do I let Windows 10 find them? Do I go to a certain website?

No literally just do the Windows 10 upgrade, make sure it has an internet connection and sit back and enjoy the ride. (If they don't install in the upgrade, when you go to do a Windows Update, it will pull the drivers down from the web)

if you are going to migrate your software, update the BIOS and all of the motherboard drivers before you install windows 10. After the install you will still need to go to your motherboard vendors website and apply the custom windows 10 drivers for your machine.

if you are going to to a clean install of windows 10, update the BIOS first, then after the install of windows 10 is done, install the motherboard drivers for windows 10. Get them from the motherboard vendor, most updated their drivers right after windows 10 shipped and did not provide the custom versions to microsoft.

Literally windows 10 will not work with my computer. This is the third time that I've tried installing it. I've spent three hours trying to fix this issue and it just got worse and worse and now I can't even restore to windows 7. Windows 10 is the worst software I've ever dealt with.

Whoa. I was told somewhere along ' the A+' route, when updating the bios, the chipset needs to be updated first, then the bios. I don't imagine that would be true for installing a new motherboard but thereafter, on updating the bios its always preceded by the chipset.
You know, I really have no clue for why. I've done a quite a few updates that way without questioning. So for that reason, I'm asking if any of you guys or anyone who knows this, do you really need to update chipset first?
