What dvd for bakcup

well im finaly making a windows 7 backup like my laptop keeps prompting me to do

my question is what dvd to use best buy has 2 and there the same price one is -R and the other is +R what is the difference and which one is better

and what size disk do i need.

Most any new DVD-RW has the capability to burn both + and - formats. I backup up to storage disk. Even a USB external HD will work. Using a DVD to make a backup would require burning a new set of DVD's every time you wanted to back up. There are DVD-RW, but they may prove to be slow to work with.

whats weird is it says its burning disk1 and it wants me to prepair 4 more there 4.7g disks how big is windows 7 is it realy 16gisgs?? 64bit btw

Yeah, burning to disk will do that. So if you backed the system up once a week in a month you would need about 20 new blank disks.

Replying to the post made me realize it has been a couple of weeks or so since I did a system backup. Backed up to my data drive. It took a few minutes to complete.
