Any know what happened to the compain that made the viper 770? I remember that card was all the hype for a while back in the day.

Diamond made the card, owned by S3 which is now sonicblue. Diamond still makes cards though, the stealth series using ATi and Nvidia cores if I am not mistaken.

I used to run a PCI stealth III S540. That was my second graphics accelerator card to my S3 Virge DX

Ya i had a Viper 770 Ultra back in the days sweet card. It was based on the TNT2 core...DIamond made some pretty good catrds.
