Hi can someone explain which ddr4 frequency is best?

As I understand that the highest Mhz isnt everything with ram but also the latency matters in the conversation.

I was thinking of 2x16gb but dont know what speed and latency to get (I was thinking of ddr4 3200 cl16

Anybody with a good explanation?

DDR4 3200 CL 16 is mid-range and perfectly acceptable for Intel and AMD CPUs. CL 14/15 would be better, but it costs more.

DDR4 3600 CL16 is higher end and works with AMD and Intel again.

DDR4 4000/4400 etc at CL 18 is about as fast as you can reasonably go on Intel K CPUs.

Higher MT/s better, lower latency better. If you are doing a lot of workstation type tasks, might be worth it to prioritize bandwidth over latency. For pure gaming, latency is better.

I ordered a i5 12600k, does it support ddr4 4000? Otherwise i will go with 3600 cl16
