What game video settings are effected by ram and what is by cpu/gpu

I have 24gb of ram and im wondering what in game video settings are effected by it and what settings I should put it to.

Pretty no settings effect the amount of ram used. It's up to the engine to decide how to use RAM. Graphics settings usually concern the amount of vram used. If your video card doesn't have enough vram it will then go to system ram. But even doing that will kill system performance.
