Hey guys, im currently building my first gaming PC which has a i5 - 8600k CPU and a GTX 1070.

I have spent quite some time now trying to decide what monitor to buy and its really stressing me out. A lot harder than picking my PC parts.

I want a 144hz monitor bigger than 26" and around £300 - £350

Anything you guys can throw my way? cheers

Solution
An IPS panel while being visually more immersive is usually slow on response time for fast shooters like RSS. The 1070 is not your typical 1440p/144hz card.
Also, 27" is a bit odd for 1080p and you might experience some pixelation. So, getting a 1080p/144hz @24" should be a better purchase.
Something like this...

This unit comes with GSync for smoother gameplay with NVidia cards.
What kinds of games do you play?
If you favor fast action shooters, you will have to sacrifice image quality and buy a tn panel monitor.
If you favor more visually oriented games such as sims, mmo and strategy games, then look for a IPS type panel.
In either case, I suggest a higher resolution and wider monitor that will be more immersive.
I think you can do OK with your budget, but consider busting that budget for a great monitor that will be with you for a very long time.

With a GTX1070 card, you will have sync options that do not depend on the monitor having g.sync which costs more. A monitor with freesync is neither an advantage nor a disadvantage.

If you can go to a store and see your candidate monitor in person, that would be best.

I might suggest a wide screen monitor with more than 1080P resolution.
