Hello guys.

Going to purchase a monitor soon and would like to know which one I should go for:

1. Acer XG270HU: £370

*1440p @144hz
*IPS
*Freesync
*27 inch

2. Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q: £500

*1440p @144hz
*TN
*Gsync
*27 inch
*better build quality/looks

I use a GTX 970, which I will buy a second (for SLi) when I get the monitor. Obviously the ROG Swift is the better option, but does the extra £130 (which is a lot for me) justify having Gsync and loosing the IPS panel. I currently have a non Gsync 144hz monitor and screen tearing doesn't bother me, so do I really need this feature?

Well frankly speaking if tearing doesn't bother you then with 144hz you won't even notice it so I would definitely say go for the Acer. Also instead of SLI you cna even sell the gtx 970 and get the R9 Fury X, will run 1440p really well and you can utilize freesync. Not to mention that even 390x can run 1440p but at lower fps, with the Fury X you can go for crazy FPS. And it won't be that much more expensive, it costs like 150 more than the gtx 970 and you can sell your gtx 970 for at least 150-200 so.
