I want to replace my brothers CPU but want to make sure i get the right Generation CPU for it and i heard that the G2020 is 2nd gen but idk. I know it is LGA 1155 but what Gen and is it Sandy, Ivy, or what?

Some CPU's require a newer version of the BIOS (simply update to latest if unsure).

i5-3470 will Turbo up to 3.6GHz so is fairly good.

Cant really do that with a pre build PC because they have no BIOS so i can not update it no matter what i can do from what HP said when i called them. And i am buying a i5-3570 for $50 almost brand new from my good friend.
