Looking to see what gpus will fit my PC. I just bought Metro Exodus and I'm loving the game but every once in a while there is FPS drop and lag which takes away from the experience. Hoping to get a better graphics card to fix this problem with this and many other games.

My exact PC ---

The GPU I'm looking at --

You got it wrong.
Your current GPU - RX 580 is already stronger than GTX 1050 ti.

What you can do to improve performance of your pc is:
upgrade ram to 16GB,
get SSD.
Insufficient ram is the most likely reason for slowdowns and lag. Could be overheating too.

But I was under the impression the RAM doesnt affect FPS very much if at all?

Where did you get that impression?
If system doesn't have enough ram, it has to rely on simulated ram on HDD known as pagefile. Your HDD is several magnitudes slower than ram. Every time information is swapped from ram to pagefile and back, you get slowdowns and frame drops in your game. This is very simplified explanation, of course, but you get the idea.
Google about "virtual memory trashing", if you want to know more.

What I would like you to do, before you start thinking about new GPUs is to download
CPU Z - go to the memory tab and tell us what Memory you are running and are there 2 of them?
Also which Slot are the sticks in.
You can even upload a photo of the screens or type it in.

I am wondering if they just gave 1 stick of ram that runs at 2400 or something like that.

EDIT - looking at the picture in the link, it shows 1 stick of ram, if that is the case - that is defintely a big problem, but still need details as asked above.

So can anything old - the point being, its EOL/OOD - no need to list it.
I can still purchase a RX 295x2 - but not listing that either, your point is invalid.

Look buddy, this is a forum and people can comment. Theres no "point" being invalid.

You can still buy 10 series cards from retailers in many places, that's just a fact. Pretty sure Vega 56 and 64 are no longer in production but are they ok to list?
