Hi,

I got a computer very cheap a few months ago with an I7-3770k processor from which I thought was a decent price (£120) for the computer all together.
I recently upgraded the PSU to 750 watts and got a 'temporary' GPU so that I can play very basic games.
I need a new GPU that will run perfectly with newer and older games with my CPU. I do not overclock and not looking into overclocking anytime soon.

My temporary GPU is a GT 610 (I think, I'm not at home so can't check), and I got it for a very cheap price. It runs CSGO and some other low end spec games which I needed however, in the long run I need a better GPU.

I will be upgrading my motherboard, RAM and everything else in the future.

SPECS:
Processor: I7-3770
GPU - Nivida GT 610
PSU - (Don't know the make) 750 watts.
RAM - 8GB (I'm not sure what GDDR, I think it's GDDR 3 however, may be 2. Which is why I need to upgrade my motherboard if so).
Hard Drive: 2TB
SSD: 480gb

Thanks in advanced.

wow, major bottleneck right there.

a few things, what is your budget? also, this one is important, you need to check if your psu is good esp if you plan to get a powerful gpu.

technically, almost anything you buy will be better than your gt610 (this one is luck the lowest of the bunch)

My budget is about £200-£300 max.
I'm not expecting to get a very powerful GPU that exceeds my PSU wattage.
Let's put it this way, I want to be able to play GTA 5 on medium to high settings. If that's possible.

I would go for the GTX 970, very good bang for the buck.

If your cpu is a 3770 then you are running ddr3 ram, no need to "upgrade"

you would be wasting money changing the cpu, mobo, or ram

drop in a gtx 970 and you will have a darn great gaming rig

only thing that is making me raise an eyebow is your power supply

please open your case and post back with make and model

Hi,

It is a Corsair CX750M 750W ATX 80+
I'm not very good on the various different PSU's at all so I just got whatever.

its not a top tier unit, but not an exploding death trap either.

enjoy your new 970.
